About

I am a full-time art junkie. Art feeds my addiction to creativity. I paint, I photograph, I shoot and edit videos, I collage and sometimes I do all those things together in one piece. Two things I feel I should mention about my art.

One, I try to use as much trash as I can for my works. Especially, packaging. I can attest to the fact that the way you throw away your recycling says volumes about you. I work in Advertising and have a soft spot for packaging design. Also, my country Bangladesh is at high risk of being wiped away by rising sea levels. As a conscientious human being, I try to reduce, reuse, recycle in every which way, often upcycling art collected from Goodwill and dumpsters.

Two, I'm a copywriter and words flow through my veins. As a result, I like using a lot of typography in my work. It is my little homage to words, to languages, to the art of typography.

I grew up in Bangladesh. The language I incorporate most is my first language, Bengali. Other than Bengali, I can also write in Hindi, English and Thai.

Journalism, pop culture and lucid dreams constantly influence my art. I carry with me the best things of the places I've lived in. The friendliness of sweet tea from the Carolinas, the spice of street foods in Thailand, the rebellious slogans of nationwide hartals in Bangladesh and the laidback progressiveness of the PNW. My art is shaped by my need to question everything.
